Junior baseball outfielder Greg Allen (San Diego, Calif.) and senior swimmer Mikaela Macklin (Placerville, Calif.) were each named 2014 Student-Athletes of the Year for demonstrating excellence in academics, athletics and leadership, while boasting outstanding character.

Allen, a Business Management major with a 3.52 cumulative Grade Point Average, is a five-time scholar-athlete and former Malik Award winner. He is a two-time Mountain West Academic all-conference selection and MW Scholar-Athlete, and is a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars. In the pool, Macklin received NCAA All-American honors and won the MW Senior Recognition Award as part of the 800-meter freestyle relay championship team that set the MW meet record. Macklin was named the 2013 MW Swimmer of the Year, and qualified for the NCAA Championships in three events. She also holds numerous school records in the 200 individual medley, 400IM, 200 breaststroke and 800 free relay.
