Baseball Slipped Up at Nevada

RENO, Nev. -- The San Diego State baseball team suffered a 13-3 defeat against Nevada on Friday night at Peccole Park. Nevada (28-22, 19-9 MW) clinched its second regular-season Mountain West Championship in the last four years with the win, while SDSU (36-18, 18-11 MW) will be the No. 2 seed in next week's Mountain West Baseball Tournament at Tony Gwynn Stadium.
- San Diego State is now 5-3 in its last eight games against Nevada.
- Jordan Verdon logged his 25th and 26th doubles of the season in the effort. Verdon's 26 doubles are tied for the most by an Aztec in a single season since Terry Jones and Chris Gwynn both hit a school-record 31 doubles during the 1984 season.
- SDSU has won each of its last two Mountain West Tournament championships as a No. 2 seed (2015 & 2017).
San Diego State will look to capture a series win over the Wolf Pack tomorrow at 12:00 p.m. PT. RHP Justin Goossen-Brown is scheduled to make the start for the Aztecs.
