Baseball Season Seats on Sale Featuring Strasburg Plan

SAN DIEGO - San Diego State has unveiled the Strasburg Plan as part of its season tickets packages for 2009 Aztec baseball. The plan includes tickets to the first home game of the series against six different opponents with SDSU All-American pitcher Stephen Strasburg scheduled to start four of those games.
The Aztec junior right-hander was a consensus All-American and U.S. Olympic team member in 2008 and has been named the preseason national pitcher of the year by Collegiate Baseball, Rivals.com and CollegeBaseballInsider.com. Last season he finished among the top three in the nation in strikeouts (133) and earned run average (1.57).
The price for the six games in the Strasburg Plan is $24 and includes a Thursday contest against Nevada (Feb. 26) along with Friday games vs. USD (March 6), UNLV (March 13), Brigham Young (March 20), TCU (April 24) and Air Force (May 8). Each of those contests is set for a 6:00 p.m. start. Strasburg is expected to start the contests against UNLV, Nevada, TCU and Air Force.
Tickets plans are also available for the entire home season which consists of 31 games on 29 dates including a pair of doubleheaders. The cost of a full season ticket is $100 with seniors (55 and older) and youth (ages 3-14) packages priced at $75.

San Diego State gets its 2009 campaign underway this Friday (Feb. 20) when it meets Bethune-Cookman at the MLB Urban Invitational in Compton, Calif, at 2:00 p.m. (Pacific Time). The home opener is set for Tuesday, Feb. 24, against fifth-ranked Cal State Fullerton at 6:00 p.m. at Tony Gwynn Stadium.
