Hartshorn Named Conference Pitcher Of The Week

SAN DIEGO - Right-hander Chris Hartshorn has been named the McLeodUSA Mountain West Conference Baseball Pitcher of the Week for his performance last Saturday at Brigham Young.
The freshman from Eden Prairie, Minn., threw the first complete game of his college career in the 9-2 victory at BYU on May 6. He faced 38 batters over nine innings, scattering six hits and allowing two earned runs while striking out five and walking just one.
The complete game was also just the third of the season for the Aztecs. Hartshorn is now 5-4 in 15 appearances and leads the conference with a 3.82 earned run average.
San Diego State is 28-26 overall and 16-10 in MWC action. The Aztecs host UNLV this weekend (May 12-14) at Tony Gwynn Stadium with games Friday and Saturday at 6:00 p.m. and Sunday at 2:00 p.m. SDSU needs one win or one BYU loss this weekend to clinch second place and the number-two seed at the upcoming conference tournament which takes place in Las Vegas May 17-20..
