    A Tough Night

    San Diego State shoots 28.8 percent from the field tonight. It is the second worst shooting percentage of the season (Syracuse) and the lowest for an Aztec team since shooting 28.8 percent against Wyoming on March 11, 2006. SDSU won that game, 69-64, in overtime. Tonight marked just the eighth time since 1996 that SDSU has shot lower than 30 percent from the field. The Aztecs are 1-7 in those games.

    Franklin career-long streak of 20+ scoring games is snapped at three... Nonetheless, he reaches double figures for the fifth straight game, the 16th time this season and the 46th time in his career... He has led SDSU in scoring 13 times this season and 39 times in his career... He made a three-point field goal for the fifth straight game... Had three assists, marking the 12th time this season he has had three or more assists in a game...He has led SDSU in assists eight times this season and 13 times in his career... All 13 of his points came after intermission.

    Winston Shepard - 10 points, 6 rebounds
    Shepard made his second career start (also at Fresno State)... He reached double figures in consecutive games for the first time in his career and he has 10 or more points in three of his last five games... He pulled in six rebounds, one off of his career high... He has six or more rebounds in four of his 15 career games.

    DeShawn Stephens - 7 points, 7 rebounds
    Stephens pulled down a team-high seven rebounds, his highest total since grabbing eight boards against San Francisco (12-22-12)... His seven points represented his second highest scoring output in his last seven games (10 at Fresno State).

    For the second time in four games, junior point guard Xavier Thames was unable to play because of a lower back strain.
