Team Notes

• San Diego State held Savannah State to 67 points after the Tigers entered the game averaging 93.6 points per game.

• SDSU limited the Tigers to a season-low 67 points (71 was previous low). Savannah State had scored at least 91 points in each of its last three games entering tonight with a high of 118 vs. Fort Valley.

• The Aztecs held Savannah State to just 10 three-pointers. The Tigers entered the game averaging 17.1 three-point makes per game.

• SDSU reached the 100-point plateau for the first time since defeating St. Katherine, 113-35 on Dec. 27, 2013.

• The Aztecs’ 100 points also mark the team’s fourth-highest scoring output in Viejas Arena history.

• SDSU’s 55 rebounds represent the school’s second-best total ever at Viejas Arena, while its 14 treys is tied for third-most in the facility.

Matt Shrigley – 15 points, 4 rebounds
Made his career-high fifth three-pointer with 7:30 left in the first half… He was 5-for-6 from deep in nine minutes of action when he hit his fifth trey… Recorded his second straight double-digit scoring game and second of the season (17th career).

Zylan Cheatham – 18 points, 8 rebounds, 2 steals, 6-6 FGs
Reached the double-figure scoring plateau for the second time this season (12th career).

Jeremy Hemsley – 14 points, 3 rebounds, 9 assists
Has opened the season with five straight double-digit scoring performances… Established a career high in assists… has just two turnovers in last two games, covering 65 minutes.

Trey Kell – 9 points, 7 rebounds, 7 assists, 1 block, 1 steal
Set a career high in assists… becomes only the second Aztec since 1996-97 to record at least nine points, seven rebounds, seven assists, one block and one steal in a game. Lorrenzo Wade was the other (16-9-8-2-2) on Feb. 20, 2007 at New Mexico in overtime.

Montaque Gill-Caesar – 12 points, 5 rebounds
Reached double figures in scoring for the first time as an Aztec and for the 14th time of his career… Set a season high with a pair of three-pointers.

Max Hoetzel – 15 points, 8 rebounds
Scored an Aztec season high with 15 points… Has reached double figures in scoring the last two games… Set a career high with three treys.
