San Diego State Defeats Fresno State, 62-58
Billy White scored 22 points, including the go-ahead free throws with 19.5 seconds remaining, as San Diego State held off Fresno State 62-58 on Monday night in the West Coast Classic.

San Diego State looks to win a Mountain West-record sixth consecutive league-opening game on Wednesday night when the Aztecs travel to Fresno to face long-time rival Fresno State.

Game time is set for 8:30 p.m. PT and the contest will be televised by Time Warner Cable SportsNet with radio coverage on AM 600 KOGO and 101 KGB.

The Aztecs bounced back from a disappointing one-point loss to No. 3 Arizona with a workman-like 72-57 win over CSU Bakersfield last Wednesday at Viejas Arena. San Diego State never trailed in the contest and led by as many as 24 points in the second half. Junior guard Jamaal Franklin paced SDSU with team-highs in points (18), rebounds (12) and assists (4).

On the line Wednesday is San Diego State's 31-game win streak against California teams. Not only is it the longest active win streak against teams from California, but according to STATS, Inc., it is the third-longest active streak nationally against schools from a single state since the beginning of the 1996-97 campaign. The only longer active streaks during that stretch are a pair of 32-game streaks by Syracuse vs. teams from New York, and Connecticut vs. teams from its home state. A victory Wednesday would allow SDSU to move into a first-place tie in that category.

San Diego State has shared the last two Mountain West regular-season titles (co-champs with New Mexico in 2012 and Brigham Young in 2011). In all, the Aztecs have seven Mountain West championships (three regular season and four tournaments).
