SPOKANE, Wash. -
Fourth-seeded San Diego State spent its first full day in Spokane, Wash., putting in a good amount of work on Wednesday ahead of Thursday's NCAA second-round game vs. 13th-seeded New Mexico State.
The Aztecs completed a morning film session before heading to Spokane Falls Community College for a full workout. After a break for lunch, SDSU headed to Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena for the first time to take part in the mandatory open locker room, interview and open practice session.
During the open practice, head coach Steve Fisher and other members of the program met with Spero Dedes, Doug Gottlieb and Jaime Maggio, who will be calling the game on truTV. Fisher also spoke with Ted Robinson and P.J. Carlesimo, who will have the action for Westwood One Radio. Josh Davis and James Johnson each hit halfcourt shots to end the open-to-the-public practice.
San Diego State will open NCAA action on Thursday at approximately 6:57 p.m. PT against New Mexico State. The game will air nationally on truTV.
