#AztecMBB Prepares for North Dakota State
March 21, 2014
SPOKANE, Wash. - No. 13/11 and fourth-seeded San Diego State, not 24 hours after it defeated New Mexico State in the second round of the NCAA tournament, spent Friday preparing for its third-round foe North Dakota State.
SDSU went through a mid-day film session after breakfast, while members of the support staff attended a transition meeting at Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena. The transition meeting is held to go over the third-round routine as well as make teams aware of what lies ahead should they advance.
In the early afternoon, the Aztecs headed to the arena to fulfill their mandatory media obligations. Xavier Thames, Winston Shepard and JJ O'Brien took part in the news conference session and was followed by Steve Fisher. The Mountain West Coach of the Year also spent a few minutes with Westwood One's Ted Robinson and P.J. Carlesimo.
After the 40-minute media availability, San Diego State took the Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena floor where it spent 90 minutes preparing for the 12th-seeded Bison.
SDSU and NDSU will look to earn a spot in the Sweet 16 on Saturday when their third-round game tips at 3:10 p.m. PT on TNT. The contest will air locally in San Diego on The Mighty 1090 and nationally on Westwood One Radio.
