SDSU Men's Hoops Leads California In Attendance

SAN DIEGO - San Diego State's average home attendance at Viejas Arena in 2011-12 ranked first among all Division I universities in California and 29th overall. Only three other schools from California were in the top 100: California (52nd), Fresno State (79th) and UCLA (84th).
SDSU played 19 home games this season and averaged a school-record 12,096 fans at the program's on-campus arena, which holds 12,414. The Aztecs' average home attendance was well ahead other California universities such as California (8,532) and Fresno State (6,521). SDSU's overall attendance, meanwhile, was 229,820, which was also a record-high.
The Aztecs played before a capacity crowd inside Viejas Arena on 11 occasions over the course of the season. San Diego State finished with a 17-2 record at home and was 26-8 overall after earning a berth in the NCAA Tournament for the third straight year.
In 2012-13, San Diego State is slated to return four of its five starters and its top four scorers from this past season. The Aztecs are also slated to welcome three Division I transfers and a heralded recruiting class that was ranked No. 24 nationally by Rivals.com.
