The San Diego State men's basketball team is ranked 13th nationally by, the website announced today.

"The Aztecs are deep and undeniably talented," Matt Norlander of said. "SDSU has three transfer players from major conferences added to the roster this season."

Earlier this week, SDSU was voted as the preseason Mountain West favorite in the league's annual media poll. Jamaal Franklin was named the preseason player of the year and was joined on the first team by Chase Tapley. Dwayne Polee II, meanwhile, was tabbed the co-newcomer of the year.

The Aztecs, who finished the 2011-12 campaign with a 26-8 record, are coming off their fourth straight season with at least 25 victories and their third consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance. In each of the last seven years, the back-to-back Mountain West regular-season champions have won 20 or more games and have advanced to the postseason.

In 2012-13, San Diego State returns four of its five starters and its top four scorers from last season. The Aztecs also welcome three Division I transfers and a heralded recruiting class.
