  • Founding members of the Mountain West Conference, San Diego State and Colorado State play the first of two times in 23 days on Saturday in Fort Collins, Colo. The teams will meet for the 82nd time, with the Rams owning a 41-40 series advantage. The game will be televised nationally by CBS Sports Network and the game can be heard on 101.5 KGB, XTRA 1360, FOX Sports IE 1350) in Southern California and on the iHeart Radio app.
  • San Diego State ran its home record to 6-1 this season with a 79-59 victory against Utah State on Saturday night. The Aztecs, which never trailed in the game, defeated the Aggies for a 10th straight time in the series and handed Utah State its widest margin of defeat this season.
  • The Aztecs rank 22nd nationally in points allowed per possession (.941), 34th in fewest fouls per game (15.9) and 42nd in field goal percentage defense (39.8). San Diego State has held seven of its 13 opponents to 38.1 percent or less from the field.
  • San Diego State is 7-0 this season when owning an advantage in field goal percentage and 8-0 when attempting more free throws.
  • San Diego State is 9-1 against teams outside the Pac-12 Conference.
  • Senior Malik Pope has scored nine or more points in five consecutive games (15.2 ppg) and has a steal in a career-best six consecutive contests.
  • In eight career games against Colorado State, Pope has 102 points (12.8), 39 rebounds (4.9), 10 assists (1.3), seven blocked shots and four steals. He has connected on 37-of-64 field goal attempts (57.8 percent), 12-of-16 from three-point range (75.0 percent) and 16-of-20 from the free throw line (80.0 percent).
  • In three career games at Moby Arena, Pope has averaged 15.3 points, 6.0 rebounds, while shooting 60.0 percent from the field (18-30) and 88.9 percent from three-point range (8-9).
  • Junior Devin Watson reached double figures for a third consecutive game with a team-high 15 points against the Aggies. He is 6-for-10 from three-point range over his last two games and has posted consecutive games with at least three three-point field goals (personal record is three straight games).
  • Redshirt freshman Jalen McDaniels is one of 19 freshmen nationally to average six points, six rebounds and shoot 50 percent or better from the field.In his last six games, he is averaging 9.8 points, 7.7 rebounds and is 21-of-33 from the field (63.6 percent).
  • True freshman Matt Mitchell has eight double-digit scoring games this season and has made 11 of his last 26 attempts from behind the arc (42.3 percent).
  • Junior guard Jeremy Hemsley, who needs just 43 points to become the 32nd member of the SDSU 1,000-point club, is averaging 10.4 points in his last five games
  • Colorado State has won seven consecutive home games and currently has the ninth best home court advantage according to KenPom. However, San Diego State has handed the Rams five of their last 34 home losses. Since Jan. 31, 2009, the Aztecs are 5-4 at Moby Arena, while the rest of the country is 29-110 during that span.
  • Since the beginning of the 2013-14 campaign, San Diego State is 31-20 in true road games (60.8 percent) and owns the nation’s 15th best winning percentage during that span.
