Earned second-team all-Mountain West honors last season after grading out as the best Aztec offensive lineman in 2003 ... Among the largest players in the Mountain West and figures to be a candidate for all major honors up front ... Has shown dramatic improvement each year on Montezuma Mesa ... Could be the next Aztec offensive lineman to reach the NFL, joining the likes of Kyle Turley (Rams), Chester Pitts (Texans), Mike Houghton (Panthers), Ephraim Salaam (Broncos) and Andrew Kline (Cardinals) ... Did not participate in spring drills due to shoulder surgery that he delayed until after the 2003 season ... Was voted as the team's most improved player following his junior season.

2003: One of three Aztec linemen to start all 12 games last season ... His 859 plays were third most by a lineman ... Played the last two games of the season with a torn labrum ... His season grade of 91 percent was tops on the team ... Was called for just two penalties and was credited with 18 "pancake blocks" during the season to rank second on the team ... Earned SDSU's lineman of the week award six times in 12 games to easily lead San Diego State in that category.

2002: Started eight games, including the first five of the season at right guard ... Also started three games late in the season at right tackle ... Was whistled for just two penalties during the season ... Was credited with two "big blocks" during the season ... Graded out at 88 percent by the coaching staff after the Arizona State game ... Did not play against Utah, New Mexico and Colorado State.

2001: Appeared in a reserve role in six games, taking 59 snaps ... Had his best outing at Utah, grading out at 86 percent on 23 plays.

2000: Redshirted first year on campus.

High School: Prepped at San Diego County power El Camino ... A first-team all-CIF selection as well as a member of the all-North County and all-San Diego County teams ... Was also a first team all-Avocado League choice and an honorable mention selection to the all-state team ... A key figure in El Camino's perfect 13-0, 1999 CIF Division I championship season ... Was also a three-year letterman in basketball.
