SAN DIEGO -

Future Schedules

San Diego State and New Mexico State have agreed to a home-and-home series in football, starting in 2019, the two schools announced today. The Aztecs and Aggies will play Sept. 14, 2019 in Las Cruces, N.M., and Sept. 2, 2023 in San Diego.

SDSU already had a home game scheduled with NMSU for Sept. 4, 2021, and will now play the Aggies in 2019 (road), 2021 (home) and 2023 (home).

New Mexico State is coming off a 7-6 season in 2017, winning its final three games, including a 26-20 win over Utah State in the Nova Home Loans Arizona Bowl. San Diego State is 9-1-1 all-time against the Aggies. The Aztecs have won seven straight games in the series, including a 26-16 win in Las Cruces in the last meeting in 2013. Donnel Pumphrey ran for 167 yards and three touchdowns in the game, his first of a school-record 33 career 100-yard rushing games.

Additionally, SDSU’s road game at Eastern Michigan, originally scheduled for Sept. 28, 2019, has been pushed back to Sept. 3, 2027 (Friday).

San Diego State finished 2017 with a 10-3 record, its school-record third consecutive season with at least 10 victories. The Aztecs are one of just seven schools in the nation to win at least 10 games in three straight seasons (also Alabama, Clemson, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and Wisconsin). SDSU is scheduled to return seven starters on offense and seven on defense, along with its kicker and punter.

San Diego State is accepting new account deposits on 2018 season tickets through the Aztec Ticket Office, while current season-ticket holders can also renew their tickets for the 2018 campaign. Fans can purchase tickets through GoAztecs.com, over the phone by calling (619) 283-7378, or by visiting SDCCU Stadium's Window E between 9 a.m. PT and 5 p.m. PT.

The Aztecs kick off their season at Stanford on Friday, Aug. 31, and begin a three-game homestand against Sacramento State on Saturday, Sept. 8.
