USA Today Picks SDSU Football Second in MW West Division

SAN DIEGO - USA Today recently projected the San Diego State football team to finish second in the West Division of the Mountain West standings with a 7-5 overall record and a 5-3 mark in conference play, in its 2013 College Football Preview.
The publication lists senior safety Eric Pinkins as the Aztecs' player worth watching this season, and has SDSU's home game against Fresno State on Oct. 26 as one of the conference's three games to watch.
The USA Today Coaches Poll has three of San Diego State's 2013 opponents ranked in the top 25, led by No. 2 Ohio State, No. 19 Boise State and No. 25 Oregon State. Three other opponents received votes, including Fresno State (62 points), Utah State (23) and San Jose State (8).
The Aztecs get their 2013 season underway on Saturday, Aug. 31 at home against Eastern Illinois, beginning at 5 p.m. PT. The KGB SkyShow, the largest fireworks display in San Diego, will be held following the game.
SDSU returns 17 starters from its 2012 team that finished 9-4 overall and 7-1 in MW play, claimed their 19th conference championship in school history and played in a bowl game for a school-record third-straight year.
