SAN DIEGO - San Diego State is set for Aztec Fan Fest, formerly known as Aztec Family Day, which is scheduled for tomorrow (Saturday) at Qualcomm Stadium. The event features Tailgate Town, a Fan Fest scrimmage and a Meet the Team autograph session.

Gates open at 3:30 p.m. PT, and admission is free. The event begins with Tailgate Town, which includes appearances by SDSU players, coaches and sponsors, as well as the SDSU Marching Aztecs and Cheer team. It will also feature food trucks, interactive games and a clearance apparel sale.

The Fan Fest scrimmage is scheduled for 5 p.m., leading up to the Meet the Team autograph session with select players beginning at 6:30 p.m. Players will be limited to sign only one item per person.

Additionally, The Mighty 1090 will be going live from Qualcomm Stadium from 3-4:30 p.m. Various Aztec guests will be on the air throughout the coverage. Confirmed spots are below:

3:15 p.m. - SDSU football head coach Rocky Long
3:30 p.m. - SDSU director of athletics Jim Sterk
3:45 p.m. - SDSU associate athletic director/marketing Steve Schnall
4 p.m. - SDSU basketball player Matt Shrigley

The San Diego State football team returns 17 starters from last year's team that finished 9-4 overall, and 7-1 in Mountain West play. The Aztecs claimed the 19th conference championship in school history and advanced to a school-record third-consecutive bowl game. SDSU finished last season winning its final seven regular-season games.

The Aztecs open the 2013 campaign on Saturday, Aug. 31, against Eastern Illinois at Qualcomm Stadium. The contest is slated to kick off at 5 p.m. PT and will be followed by the annual KGB SkyShow
