Four M. Soccer Seniors Named Pac-12 All-Academic

SAN DIEGO – Jeroen Meefout, Winston Sorhaitz, Dallin Cutler and Adam Allmaras of the San Diego State men’s soccer team were all named to the Pac-12 All-Academic team on Thursday. Cutler and Sorhaitz were named to the league’s First Team, while Allmaras and Meefout earned nods for the league’s Second Team.
Cutler, Allmaras, and Meefout earn the honor in back-to-back seasons having appeared on the Pac-12 All-Academic team in 2016. Cutler is a back-to-back First Team recipient – the first in program history since Freddy McDonald in 2006 and 2007 – while Adam Allmaras earned his fourth consecutive All-Academic Team honor, becoming the first in program history to accomplish the feat.
Meefout, an All-Pac-12 Second Team honoree, led the Aztecs with eight goals and 21 points, finishing second and third, respectively, in the Pac-12. Meefout’s collegiate career concluded with 16 career goals – the fourth most by an Aztec since 2000 – while his eight goals in 2017 were the most by an Aztec since 2013. Having earned CoSIDA Academic All-District honors earlier this month, Cutler capped his collegiate career with a three-goal, three-assist showing during his senior campaign. Cutler is one of seven members of the Pac-12 All-Academic First Team to possess a grade point average of 3.85 or better, as the local San Diego native owns a 3.87 GPA as a philosophy major at SDSU.
