SDSU Men's Tennis Compete At Sherwood Invitational

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. - Three San Diego State men's tennis players, Daniel Jung, Markus Dickhardt and Chris Groh, are competing in the Sherwood Invitational being held at Sherwood Country Club in Thousand Oaks, Calif.
In Saturday's action, the Aztecs participated in the back-draw of the event. Jung defeated Stanford's Eric McKean, 6-1, 6-2, and was up 4-3 when Pepperdine's Igor Lovrak retired.
Dickhardt downed Jason Nguyen of UCLA, 6-2, 6-4, and lost to Stanford's James Wan, 2-6, 5-7. In doubles main draw play, Dickhardt teamed with Baylor's Greg Shearer to defeat the tournament's number two seed from Southern California, Jamil Al-Agba-Drew Hoskins, 9-8.
On Friday, Groh defeated his first round opponent, Lee Chang of Stanford, in straight sets, 6-1, 6-0. In the second round, the sophomore fell to UCLA's Chris Lam, 2-6, 1-6.
Jung, a senior from Germany, lost his first round match, 1-6, 2-6, to Southern California's Andrew Hoskins, as did Dickhardt, who was downed by Johan Berg of USC, 6-7, 3-6.
