No. 63 SDSU Men's Tennis Downs Oklahoma State

LAS VEGAS - The No. 63 San Diego State men's tennis team picked up 5-2 victory against Oklahoma State on Saturday afternoon at Fertitta Tennis Complex in Las Vegas, Nev. With the win, SDSU improves to 4-1 on the year, while the Cowboys drop to 3-1 on the season.
In doubles play, the Aztecs won the doubles point with victories at No. 2 and 3. The duo of Thorsten Bertsch and Derek Siddiqui easily defeated Brandon Champagne and Adolfo Aires, 8-0. The freshman duo of Rickey Baylon and Spencer Simon, meanwhile, won 8-6 against Eric West and Chris Haworth.
SDSU continued its dominance in singles play by winning four of six matches. At No. 1, Javier Pulgar earned a 6-2, 7-6 (8) victory against No. 60 Vlad Bondarenko. 3. Thorsten Bertsch also earned a win against a ranked opponent as he defeated No. 77 Chris Haworth, 2-6, 6-4, 6-4 at No. 2 singles. Hunter Nicholas and Juan Florez wrapped up play for the Aztecs as they each picked up victories at No. 5 and 6. Nicholas notched a 6-2, 6-3 win against Adolfo Aires, while Florez won, 6-3, 6-4, against Trevor Horstmann.
SDSU is back in action on Feb. 18 as they play host to San Francisco. The non-conference tilt is set for a 10 a.m. PT start at Aztec Tennis Center.
