Men's Tennis Falls to No. 32 Memphis

SAN DIEGO - The San Diego State men's tennis team dropped its match to No. 32 Memphis, 5-0, in the first round of the Mission Valley Hilton Spring Invitational at Barnes Tennis Center on Thursday afternoon.
The match began with SDSU falling in doubles action, as the No. 1 team of senior Hunter Nicholas (Park City, Utah) and junior Andranik Khachatryan (Burbank, Calif.) came up short against David O'Hare and Joe Salisbury, 8-5.
In singles play, Memphis earned the first three victories to seal the dual match victory. Ianakiev came up short to Grimal, 6-1, 6-2, in No. 4 singles, while senior Juan Florez (Bogota, Colombia) lost to David O'Hare, 6-4, 6-1, in the No. 6 slot.
Nicholas dropped his match in No. 2 singles to Salisbury, 6-3, 6-4, as Memphis earned its fourth point and sealed the victory, before Jebens lost his match to Chadwell, 6-2, 6-4 in No. 5 singles.
The Aztecs resume tournament play on Friday afternoon, as they take on No. 56 Princeton at Barnes Tennis Center beginning at 1 p.m. PT.
