SAN DIEGO - The No. 55 San Diego State men's tennis team is set to open Mountain West play this weekend when it travels to Colorado Springs, Colo., for a contest with Air Force. The conference match is set for an 11 a.m. PT start on Sunday at the Lifetime Fitness Center.
SDSU is coming off a weekend where it earned third place in the Hilton San Diego Mission Valley Spring Classic after picking up convincing wins against Pacific (6-1) and Oklahoma State (4-0).
The Falcons, meanwhile, are 8-8 on the season and went 2-1 in three matches at home last week. Air Force dropped a 6-1 decision to Utah on Monday, before notching consecutive 7-0 victories against South Dakota State and Saint Louis.
San Diego State holds a 24-1 advantage in the all-time series with the Falcons. The Aztecs defeated Air Force, 6-1, when the two teams last met in April of last year.
After its matchup with the Falcons, SDSU will stay in Colorado Springs, Colo., for a contest against Denver University. The non-conference tilt is scheduled for 1 p.m. PT on Tuesday at Gates Tennis Center.
