Men's Tennis to Welcome Cross-Town Foe USD

SAN DIEGO - The No. 43 San Diego State Men's Tennis team plays host to cross-town foe No. 42 San Diego on Wednesday, beginning at 4 p.m. PT at Aztec Tennis Center. It will be the first of five-consecutive home dual matches for the Aztecs.
SDSU (13-6, 3-0 MW) is coming off an impressive comeback road victory over No. 64 UNLV on Sunday, rallying from a 3-0 deficit to win the final four singles matches and clinch the match victory, 4-3. The win also ended the Aztecs' two-match losing streak.
Sophomore Thorsten Bertsch is currently riding a six-match winning streak in the No. 2 singles slot, and has won eight of his last nine. Bertsch is 13-2 overall this season playing in the No. 2 slot and is 2-2 against nationally-ranked opponents.
The Aztecs lost at USD last season, 6-1, but won the previous five matches between the two. The Toreros are 11-7 this dual season and are coming off two-consecutive losses, including a 7-0 defeat at Oklahoma on March 28. Junior Clarke Spinosa is ranked No. 78 in singles play.
