SAN DIEGO - The San Diego State men's tennis team will compete in its final Mountain West regular season dual match on Saturday, April 12, as the Aztecs travel to face No. 22 Boise State beginning at 5:30 p.m. MT at Appleton Tennis Center in Boise, Idaho.

SDSU (9-10, 3-0 MW) has won 12-consecutive MW regular season conference matches going back to the 2012 dual season, including a home victory over Boise State, 5-2, in 2013. The Aztecs last conference match was a road win over UNLV, 4-3, on Feb. 16.

San Diego State is coming off a hard-fought loss to crosstown foe No. 49 San Diego, 6-1, on Wednesday, in a match much closer than the final score indicated. The Aztecs came up just short in two three-set singles matches, and lost by one service break in both No. 1 and No. 2 doubles play.

Sophomore Freddy Gelbrich (Isernhagen, Germany) earned a three-set singles victory over Romain Kalaydijan in the No. 3 slot, 5-7, 6-4, 10-1, for his second-consecutive singles victory. Gelbrich is now 9-8 this dual season, with eight of his victories coming on the No. 3 court. He and freshman doubles partner Hendrik Jebens (Stuttgart, Germany) are 9-5 this dual season in the No. 2 position, and have lost only twice in SDSU's last 14 dual matches.

In addition, the Aztecs' No. 3 doubles team of junior Thorsten Bertsch (Mannheim, Germany) and senior Juan Florez (Bogota, Colombia) played together for the first time all season on Wednesday, as the duo beat USD's team of Ciaran Fitzgerald and Andrew Raphaelson, 8-7 (6).

Boise State enters Friday's home match against UC Irvine 20-4 overall and 3-0 in MW play, after sweeping a doubleheader against Utah State, 6-1, and Middle Tennessee State, 4-1, on April 5. Senior Andrew Bettles is currently ranked 85th in the nation with an 11-10 dual record this season, all in the No. 1 slot.

The Aztecs will have just two more regular season matches on its schedule after Saturday, as they'll play host to Hawai'i on Wednesday, April 16, before wrapping up the regular season against UC Irvine on April 19, in a matched played at Palisades Tennis Club in Newport Beach, Calif. The 2014 Mountain West Championships begin on April 24 in Fresno, Calif.
