San Diego State vs. West Coast All-Stars
Nov. 18, 2003
Cox Arena at Aztec Bowl/San Diego, Calif.
West Coast All-Stars 74, San Diego State 70
San Diego State Head Coach Jim Tomey
On his team's effort:
"I really like the fighting spirit of our team. I think its pretty obvious that we're playing smarter; we just need to execute better. We've got to make winning plays when winning is on the line."
On the All-Stars' defensive strategy:
"We saw every kind of defense they could throw at us. They competed hard, they pushed us and that's what our team needed. We may not see a team as athletic as they were."
On Amber Fouse's play tonight:
"Amber Fouse was far and away our most confident player on the court. She did a good job directing our team and she made plays down the stretch and got others out on the floor good looks."
San Diego State Freshman Guard Amber Fouse
On rebounding from this game:
"We've got to let it go. It's just an exhibition game and we're still 0-0 as far as our real record is concerned. We need to execute better, especially in situations like that."
On her 8-of-11 shooting in her second Aztec appearance:
"I feel like I have a little more freedom to do what I want to do. I started out last game nervous, but I feel better now."
