Both schools are coming off losses in their first league games of the season on Wednesday, as the Aztecs, on the road for the first time since November, fell at TCU, 86-63 to drop to 9-4 on the year. The Lobos, meanwhile, lost a close 58-52 decision to preseason MWC favorite and No. 21 Wyoming in Albuquerque to fall to 8-6 in 2007-08. Ironically, SDSU's final conference home game a year ago was also against UNM.

-SDSU Head Coach Beth Burns: Burns (Ohio Wesleyan, 1979) is in the third year of her second stint as head coach at San Diego State. She led the Aztecs for eight seasons from 1989 to 1997, before returning in 2005. She has an overall head coaching record of 256-192 in 15 seasons, while she is 175-127 in her 10 previous campaigns at SDSU.

-New Mexico Head Coach Don Flanagan: Flanagan is in his 13th season at New Mexico. His school and career coaching record is 271-119.

-New Mexico Series History: New Mexico leads the series 22-13, including a 8-6 mark in San Diego. The Lobos have claimed the last 16 contests with the most recent SDSU win coming at home in 2001. (Last: New Mexico def. San Diego State, 67-48, on March 3, 2007, in San Diego, Calif.).
