COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - San Diego State senior Cierra Warren (Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.) was named Mountain West Women's Basketball Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday. With her award, the Aztec center garnered her second weekly conference honor this season after earning such distinction on Dec. 2.

For the week, Warren averaged 25.5 points, 10.5 rebounds and 2.0 assists to go with a blocked shot and two steals, leading the Aztecs to decisive victories at home over San José State (88-65) and Utah State (88-72). She shot a combined 51.6 percent from the floor on 16 of 31 field-goal attempts and 79.2 percent from the charity stripe on 19 of 24 free throws.

Against SJSU on Jan. 22, Warren posted career highs of 31 points and 14 rebounds, including a personal-best nine caroms on the offensive glass, to complete her third double-double of the season. In addition, she finished with a collegiate-high 11 free throws on 12 attempts (91.7 percent), opening with seven straight to surpass her career best in the first eight minutes of the game alone.

Warren continued her stellar play vs. USU on Jan. 25, finishing with 20 points and seven rebounds while shooting 60 percent from the field (6-10) en route to her sixth 20-plus point performance of the year.

Warren, who was also selected as MW player of the week by College Sports Madness, is ranked second in the conference with a .557 field-goal percentage and occupies the fifth spot with 14.9 points per game.

San Diego State, which has won two straight and four of its last five, will return to the court on Saturday, Feb. 1, when it travels to Colorado State for a key MW matchup against the first-place Rams, beginning at 2 p.m. MT/1 p.m. PT.
