Women's Hoops Faces Second-Place Wyoming Saturday
Jan. 28, 2011
The San Diego State women's basketball team plays its second consecutive opponent that is currently tied for second place in the Mountain West Conference standings, as the Aztecs take on host Wyoming Saturday at Arena Auditorium in Laramie, Wyo. The league contest is slated to begin at 12:30 p.m. PT and will be televised live on The Mtn. with Mike Evans (play-by-play) and Linda Sharp (analysis) calling the action.
SDSU will be looking to rebound from a pair of tough losses over the last two weeks in which it has led early and then either found itself behind or all square by halftime. Of the Aztecs' 10 defeats this season, just four are by 10 points or more including this past Wednesday's 65-55 loss to BYU. The game vs. the Cougars was preceded by five consecutive conference outings that were determined by three points or fewer.
Wyoming, meanwhile, currently holds a 15-4 record and is 5-1 in league action, including four straight victories. The Cowgirls lone defeat in their last 10 contests is to MWC leader TCU, which downed them 68-47 in Laramie. Wyoming is 8-2 at home this campaign and has won 11 straight in the series on its home court against the Aztecs. SDSU, however, has claimed four of the last six meetings between the two sides with the most recent coming at the MWC championships in Las Vegas last March.
Saturday's outing will also include a live audio webcast with Chris Ello, as well as live stats on goaztecs.com.
