Aztec Women's Hoops Completes First Round Of MWC Play Wednesday At Air Force
Feb. 3, 2010
The San Diego State women's basketball team (13-6), which is currently in a three-way tie atop the Mountain West Conference standings, finishes out the first round of league action Wednesday, when the Aztecs travel to Air Force for a 7 p.m. MST/6 p.m. PST tip-off at Clune Arena in USAF Academy, Colo.
SDSU is tied for first place in the MWC with both TCU and Brigham Young with a 5-2 mark. New Mexico, however, is only a half game in back of the trio in fourth place, while Wyoming is just behind the Lobos in fifth at 4-3.
San Diego State came out victorious in its most recent outing on Saturday afternoon, as the Aztecs limited visiting Colorado State to only 38 points and forced 35 Ram turnovers to win their 14th consecutive MWC home game, 59-38.
Air Force, meanwhile, has yet to earn a conference victory, heading into Wednesday's contest in last place with an 0-7 record and a 3-17 overall mark. SDSU, which will be looking to snap a two-game road losing skid, has claimed 19 of the 24 all-time meetings between the two schools, winning four straight by an average of 29 points.
