Aztecs Put Win Streak On The Line Tuesday At UNM

The Aztec women's basketball team (10-13, 4-7) takes its two-game win streak on the road for the third time in its last four outings, traveling to Albuquerque on Tuesday for a 5 p.m. PT tip-off against the New Mexico Lobos at The Pit The game is being televised live on The Mtn. with Erin Bajackson (play-by-play) and Andrea Lloyd (analysis) calling the 44th all-time meeting between the two foes.
San Diego State claimed its second victory in a row on Saturday, leading by as many as 24 before settling for a 77-60 decision over visiting UNLV at Viejas Arena. The Aztecs shot a season-best 58.5 percent from the field to record a season-high 77 points, eclipsing the 60-point barrier for the first time in their last nine contests. SDSU is now just one MWC victory behind both fourth-place Colorado State (5-5) and fifth-place Utah (5-6) entering the week.
The Aztecs' garnered their first league win in 2011 over New Mexico back on Jan. 15 in San Diego, holding on for the 56-53 victory. The Lobos started the campaign 0-5 in conference play, but have since rebounded with victories at TCU and at home against Air Force and Colorado State to currently stand at 9-13 overall and 3-7 in MWC play.
San Diego State has come out ahead in four of the last five meetings between the two sides and won both the 2009 and 2010 outings in Albuquerque. Tuesday's game features a live audio stream with Chris Ello, as well as live stats on goaztecs.com.
