Wear Pink On Tuesday For Aztec Women's Hoops' Game With No. 23 TCU

SAN DIEGO - The San Diego State women's basketball team will join the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) and over 1,500 schools nationally in the organization's WBCA Pink Zone initiative on Tuesday, Feb. 16, when it plays host to No. 23 TCU at Viejas Arena for a 7:30 p.m. PT tip-off.
The WBCA's Pink Zone initiative is designed to raise breast cancer awareness in women's basketball on campuses and in communities. The time period set aside for this year's initiative is February 12-21. The specific message behind Tuesday's contest will be to raise breast cancer awareness, promote early detection and celebrate breast cancer survivors.
Both the Aztecs and Lady Frogs will be wearing pink shooting shirts prior to the game, while SDSU will also don pink headbands, sweat bands and shoe laces.
As a part of the special promotion for Tuesday's contest, the first 1,000 fans will receive a free pink Aztec basketball t-shirt. Cancer survivors will also be recognized during halftime.
The game is being sponsored by Scripps and it will be providing educational materials and resources to fans regarding breast cancer on the concourse level of the arena throughout the evening.
SDSU Alumni and AAF members can purchase one $6 general admission ticket and get one free with their current membership card and the MWC Weeknight Meal Deal with a soda, hot dog and chips for just $6 will also be available at the concession stands on Tuesday night.
