SDSU Women's Basketball Heads To First-Place Utah Thursday As MWC Play Continues
The Aztecs, which lost to both of this week's opponents by 15 points earlier this season, will be looking for their first win in Salt Lake City since 1994, and their first victory in Provo since 1995.

-The Records: SDSU (8-12, 2-6 MWC) will look to end a two-game losing streak as it heads to first place Utah on Thursday. The Aztecs began the second round of conference play at UNLV, falling to the Lady Rebels, 81-61, in an offensive battle. Utah, meanwhile, lost its first game of the season at Colorado State, before getting back into the win column against Wyoming Sunday.
Utah won the earlier meeting between the two schools this season, 59-44, at Cox Arena on Jan. 25.
-In The RPI: In the 19th RPI rankings released by the WBCA through games of February 16, SDSU moved to 212nd, while Utah is No. 23. The Aztecs are No. 215 (College Basketball News) and No. 212 (Collegerpi.com), respectively, in the other major RPIs.
-SDSU Head Coach Jim Tomey: Tomey (Michigan '81) is in his first season at San Diego State, taking over the Aztec helm on April 9, 2002. His career and Aztec head coaching record is 8-12.
