SAN DIEGO - For the third time this season, San Diego State junior Courtney Clements (Long Beach, Calif.) has been named the Mountain West Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday. Clements, who posted a pair of 20-point scoring outings in the team's games at Wyoming and Colorado State, was also honored on Jan. 30 and Nov. 21.

Last Tuesday, Clements led the Aztecs to their first victory at Wyoming in 15 years, as the squad wrapped up the Mountain West Conference regular-season crown. The 6-0 guard matched her season high with 25 points on 8-of-15 shooting, highlighted by a 3-of-4 mark from beyond the arc, while also converting all six of her free-throw attempts. With the SDSU leading by just one point at the break, Clements scored 17 of the team's next 21 points coming out of the locker room to put the Aztecs ahead for good. She did not commit a single turnover in 35 minutes, while also adding six rebounds and two steals.

In the squad's second road game of the week, Clements had a game-high 24 points in helping San Diego State come back from a 13-point first-half deficit to take the lead at Colorado State. She tied a team season best with her 8-for-8 performance at the charity line and also converted over 42 percent of her shots from the field.

With her 10th and 11th 20-point performances of the season, Clements moved from sixth into first in scoring in conference-only games with a 17.6 average. She has led the Mountain West in scoring average in overall contests the entire season (17.1 ppg.) and also ranks first in free-throw percentage (95.2), having made each of her last 28 attempts.

San Diego State has earned six total league player-of-the-week honors in 2011-12, including three by Clements, two by point guard Chelsea Hopkins (Las Vegas, Nev.) and one by center Malia Nahinu (Hayward, Calif.).

San Diego State plays host to its final regular-season home outing on Wednesday when Boise State comes to town for a 7 p.m. PT tip-off. Aztec seniors Kalena Tutt (Long Beach, Calif.) and Sajoyia Griffin (San Antonio, Texas) will each be honored prior to the game.
