High Stakes In Vegas For Aztec Basketball Saturday In Regular Season Finale
The San Diego State women's basketball team concludes the 2008-09 regular season in Las Vegas this Saturday afternoon against host UNLV at 3 p.m. PT at Cox Pavilion. The Aztecs hold their destiny in their own hands as the team can wrap up the No. 2 seed for next week's Mountain West Conference championships with a win over the Lady Rebels and, with a loss by Utah at TCU, can also claim a share of the league regular-season title along with the Utes.

Saturday's match-up features two squads who both took a mid-week trip to the state of Colorado and come back with victories. SDSU won its fourth-straight outing with a thrilling last-second basket to upend Colorado State, 68-66, while UNLV staged a 22-point comeback in the second half to edge host Air Force, 64-63.

The Aztecs' victory at CSU gave them 21 wins on the season, including 12 in conference action. One those MWC wins came last month against the same UNLV team, as SDSU cruised to a 83-58 victory at Cox Arena, its fourth-straight over the Lady Rebels.

San Diego State, which boasts the conference's top NCAA RPI at No. 33, will conclude its regular season on the road for the first time in three years. The game will feature a live audio call with Chris Ello, as well as live stats, on goaztecs.com.
