No. 7 San Diego State Aztecs (8-19, 3-11 MWC) vs.
No. 2 Utah Utes (22-6, 12-2 MWC)

-When & Where: Wed., March 10, 2004, vs. Utah at 6:00 p.m. MST, Pepsi Center, Denver, Colo.

-TV/Webcast/Live Stats: The game will be televised live on Channel 4 San Diego via the MWC TV Network with Beth Mowins and Becky Hammon making the call. The game will also be broadcast live on the internet with Bill Earley and Dan Lawton calling the action and live stats will be available on www.goaztecs.com.

-The Records: For the first time in the conference's five-year history, San Diego State and Utah will square off in both teams' first game of the Mountain West Conference championship. The Aztecs, 8-19 overall and 3-11 MWC, earned the No. 7 seed and will be looking for their first ever MWC tournament victory. The Utes, who enter the game at 22-6 overall and 12-2, are the second seed and shared the regular season league title with New Mexico.

Wednesday's contest is a rematch of both schools' regular season finales last Saturday, which was won by Utah 63-51 in Salt Lake City.

-SDSU Head Coach Jim Tomey: Tomey (Michigan '81) is in his second season at San Diego State after taking over the Aztec helm on April 9, 2002. His career and Aztec head coaching record is 17-37.

-Utah Head Coach Elaine Elliott: Elliott is in her 21st season at Utah and owns a school and career record of 435-177.

-Utah Series History: Utah leads the series, 19-10 (Last: Utah def. SDSU, 63-51, in Salt Lake City, 3/6/04).
