WBB to Open Junkanoo Jam vs. Central Mich.

San Diego State women’s basketball is scheduled to compete at the 2017 Junkanoo Jam in Bimini, Bahamas and will open the three-day tournament against Central Michigan on Fri., Nov. 24 at 6 p.m. (ET). In its 14th incarnation, the tournament is slated for Nov. 23-25 at Gateway Christian Academy in Bimini, Bahamas.
Also participating in the tournament, presented by the Hilton at Resorts World Bimini, are Baylor, Georgia Tech, Iowa State, Missouri State, Penn and Tulane.
The tournament’s participants are divided into two divisions: the Junkanoo and Bimini divisions. SDSU, Central Michigan, Iowa State and Tulane are in the Bimini Division, while Baylor, Georgia Tech, Missouri State and Penn are in the Junkanoo Division.
The winners of the opening divisional games battle for the divisional championship on Sat., Nov. 25 at 8 p.m. (ET), while the losers of the divisional opener tangle on Sat., Nov. 25 at 5:45 p.m. (ET).
Every game of the Junkanoo Jam will stream live on FloHoops.com for a subscription fee.
The remainder of the Aztecs’ non-conference slate will be announced at a later date. Their Mountain West schedule was released earlier this month, with the Scarlet and Black’s conference lid lifter set for Dec. 28 against Wyoming.
For the 2017-18 campaign, San Diego State returns 78.9 percent of its scoring, nine letterwinners and four starters, including All-Mountain West First-Team pick McKynzie Fort. The Aztecs will also welcome the 46th-ranked recruiting class in the country to Montezuza Mesa for head coach Stacie Terry’s fifth year.
