The Aztecs’ all-time series against UC Davis is tied, 2-2. In the teams’ last meeting on Nov. 19, 2015, San Diego State was unable to counteract the Aggies’ strong defensive effort and front line of Pele Gianotti, Morgan Bertsch and Alyson Doherty, falling 65-54 at home.

UC Davis is off to one of its hottest starts in recent memory, suffering its only loss of the season in its fifth game, a 64-60 defeat by Hofstra. A huge contributor to the Aggies success this season is the play of its offense. The team ranks 19th nationally, and tops the Big West, with a 47.7 field-goal percentage, out-scoring its opponents, 76.4-63.2.

The Scarlet and Black is coming off of a 1-1 outing at the Seton Hall Thanksgiving Classic. Against UT Arlington, head coach Stacie Terry’s alma mater, the Aztecs were never able to break out and lost a close contest, 64-58. But SDSU rebounded the next day against Central Connecticut, shooting 60.4 percent from the floor, its best shooting performance since the 2014-15 opener against Sacramento State, to top the Blue Devils, 80-62.

Junior McKynzie Fort has been outstanding in the early part of the season. With six games under her belt, she has averaged 17.5 points per game to rank second in the Mountain West. Classmate Geena Gomez has also emerged as a vital component. She was named to the Seton Hall Thanksgiving Classic All-Tournament Team after averaging 11.5 points per game at the tournament and scoring a career-high 17 points vs. Central Connecticut.

Following nearly a month away, SDSU returns to the comfortable confines of Viejas Arena for a pair of games, hosting Michigan on Fri., Dec. 9 and UC Santa Barbara on Sun., Dec. 11.

Season tickets are available for the Aztecs' 2016-17 home schedule and start at just $60. Tickets can be purchased through, over the phone by calling (619) 283-7378, or by visiting Qualcomm Stadium's Window E between 9 a.m. PT and 5 p.m. PT.
