The Aztecs (1-4) rallied from a nine-point deficit to post a 71-67 triumph at UC Santa Barbara on Saturday as Stacie Terry collected her first career head coaching victory.

SDSU was led by senior center Cierra Warren (Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., who registered 21 points on 9-of-10 shooting and pulled down a game-high seven rebounds against the Gauchos.

With her performance, Warren captured Mountain West Player of the Week honors, marking the first time this year an Aztec received such distinction.

San Diego State also received important contributions off the bench from sophomore Deidra Smith (Aurora, Colo., who tallied a career-high 12 points in just 12 minutes, while freshman Ariell Bostick (Oakland, Calif.) (11 pts) and Deajanae Scurry (Los Angeles, Calif.) (10 pts) finished with double-digit scoring totals as well.

SDSU is winless against Texas A&M in three all-time meetings, which have all been contested in San Diego, including a tough 75-72 overtime loss in the second round of the 1994 NCAA West Regionals at Peterson Gym.

The Aztecs will be making their first trip to the state of Texas since February of 2012 when they fell to TCU by a 58-39 count in Fort Worth.
