Rowing To Compete at San Diego Fall Classic

San Diego State will face crews from USD, UCSD, UCSB and Arizona State on Sunday.

SAN DIEGO - The San Diego State rowing team will enter its first official outing of the 2013-14 season on Sunday as it participates in the San Diego Fall Classic. The event will also serve as the official debut of the new coaching staff of the SDSU rowing program. The Fall Classic is being hosted by the San Diego Rowing Club.

The Aztecs will enter five boats in the Women's Open Eight event that will get underway at 7:30 am. These crews will face boats from San Diego, UC San Diego and UC Santa Barbara. Also racing on Sunday will be one San Diego State crew in the Women's Open Novice Eight which is set to begin at 10 am. This boat will go up against San Diego, UC San Diego and Arizona State.

All parents, alumni and friends of the program are invited to attend the festivities. Spectators are encouraged to watch the race from the Crown Point Shores staging and finish line areas, where there will be plenty of parking available.
