Rowing to participate in San Diego Fall Classic

SAN DIEGO - The San Diego State rowing team will compete in its final event of the fall slate on Sunday, Nov. 12, at the San Diego Fall Classic. The regatta, hosted by the San Diego Rowing Club, will take place on Mission Bay.

The Aztecs are entering six boats, four in the open eight race and two in the novice eight contest. The first event for SDSU will come at 7:30 a.m. with the open eight race, followed by the novice eight at 8:45 a.m.

In the open eight, the Aztecs will face crews from Arizona State, Cal State Long Beach, Orange Coast College, UC San Diego, UC Santa Barbara and University of San Diego. In the novice eight, SDSU is set to race boats from ASU, Nevada State College, OCC, UCSD, USD and USC.

Results from Sunday’s event will be posted on GoAztecs.com. All parents, alumni and friends of the program are welcome to attend the festivities. Spectators are encouraged to watch the race from the Crown Point Shores staging and finish line areas.
