The San Diego State women's crew team returns to competition after two weeks off, traveling to Long Beach for the 33rd Annual Long Beach Christmas Regatta. The event runs all day Sunday with the first race at 7 a.m. The regatta will be held in Marine Stadium and is hosted by the Long Beach Rowing Association.
SDSU's varisty eight finished sixth out of 15 boats at the Head of the Lake Regatta in Seattle on Nov. 12. The Aztecs placed 10th out of 19 teams in the open eight competition at the Newport Autumn Rowing Festival also on Nov. 12. SDSU also finished with a 1-2 sweep in the novice eight and earned a seventh and 10th place finish out of 12 boats in the open four event in Newport.
This weekend's event marks the last regatta of the team's fall schedule. The Aztecs' spring campaign gets underway Feb. 3 at the San Diego Indoor Classic which will be held at El Carmel Point.
