Wong's Hole-in-One Leads SDSU Women's Golf in Colorado

WOLCOTT, Colo. - San Diego State senior Christine Wong fired off a hole in one on the 17th hole Tuesday, to land in an eight-way tie for 16th place at the Golfweek Conference Challenge. Wong shot a 5-over 77 to lead the Aztecs in the second round of the 54-hole tournament on the Fazio Course at the Red Sky Golf Club in Wolcott, Colo. The Richmond, B.C. native is the only golfer from SDSU in the top 20, as the team sits in 10th place out of 18 teams with a 31-over 607.
Freshman Emma Henrikson moved up two spots on the leader board, to find herself in a tie for 42nd place after shooting a 4-over 76. Fellow first year Aztec, junior transfer Maureen Dunnagan finished day two not far behind by tying for 50th place. On her way to the two-way tie, Dunnagan carded a 3-over 75, including a birdie on hole 17 followed by an eagle to close out the day in impressive fashion.
Senior Gina Clark moved up ten spots on the leader board to a five-way tie for 58th place after shooting a 5-over 77 in her second round. Sophomore Kristina Lynn was the only San Diego State golfer to drop in the standings, falling from a tie for 28th place to a three-way tie for 72nd after posting a 14-over 86.
Teams will begin the third and final round of competition Wednesday morning as early as 8:45 a.m. MT from both the No. 1 and No. 10 tees. Live stats are available at golfstat.com.
