COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - San Diego State's Emma Henrikson has been selected Mountain West Women's Golfer of the Week for events played Feb. 11-19, the league office announced Thursday. With her award, the Aztec freshman garnered her first career MW weekly accolade.

In SDSU's first tournament of the spring, Henrikson registered the highest individual finish of her career, taking third place out of 65 golfers at The Gold Rush presented by Farmers Insurance, held at Yorba Linda Country Club in Yorba Linda, Calif., on Feb. 11-12. The Malmö, Sweden, native carded a 10-over-par 226 (71-73-82) on the par-72, 6,077-yard course. Henrikson's opening round of 71 marked a season low and also represented the second-lowest round in the event. She also tied for the tournament lead with nine birdies. As a team, SDSU posted its best showing of the 2012-13 campaign, as the Aztecs finished fourth among the field of 11 squads with a combined score of 77-over 941 (308-315-318).

Through 15 rounds, Henrikson leads SDSU and ranks sixth in the Mountain West with a 75.13 stroke average.

Henrikson and the Aztecs return to the course next week when they travel to the Bay Area for the Cal Classic, Feb. 25-26, at Ruby Hill Golf Club in Pleasanton, Calif.
