SAN DIEGO - Nine regular-season tournaments in six different states, including the first annual Battle at Rancho Bernardo Inn, highlight the 2010-11 San Diego State women's golf schedule released Wednesday by second-year head coach Emilee Klein.

The Aztecs' fall slate consists of four tournaments in four different states, starting with the Sept. 17-18 Dick McGuire/Branch Law Firm New Mexico Invitational in Albuquerque, N.M. SDSU finished 12th in the same event last year, led by Christine Wong's 15th-place individual finish.

The Red and Black will play the first of two October events when they travel to the Oct. 4-5 Windy City Collegiate in Highland Park, Ill. SDSU finishes its fall schedule at the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown in Boulder City, Nev., Oct. 25-27.

San Diego State opens its spring 2011 campaign with a trip to the desert for the Arizona Lady Wildcat Invitational, Feb. 7-8. The Aztecs then return to California for three consecutive tournaments, beginning with the Long Beach State Gold Rush, Feb. 14-15. Two weeks later, SDSU will tee it up at the Bruin/Wave Classic, Feb. 28 -March 2. The Aztecs finished 12th in last year's event, paced by Malin Enarsson's 25th-place finish.

The Aztecs play host to the inaugural Battle at Rancho Bernardo Inn, set for March 20-22. The 17-team event features some of the nation's top programs, including nine teams ranked in the top-15 of GolfStat.com's final 2010 national rankings. The field is highlighted by defending national champion Purdue, as well as perennial powers Arizona State, Arizona, USC and UCLA.

Following the regular season-ending Arizona State PING Invitational, SDSU battles for conference supremacy at the MWC championships at The Wigwam Golf Resort in Phoenix, Ariz., April 12-14. This is the first time the conference tournament has taken place in Arizona, after taking place the last two seasons at the Black Horse Golf Course in Seaside, Calif.

The Aztecs will look to earn their second consecutive postseason bid at NCAA regionals, which are set for May 5-7. They are followed by the national championships at Traditions Golf Club in College Station, Texas, May 17-20.

San Diego State returns its top five stroke average leaders from last year's team, led by the 2010 MWC Freshman of the Year Christine Wong. In her first year on The Mesa, Wong led the team with a 74.76 stroke average and finished as the No. 2 amateur in the 2010 U.S. Women's Open at historic Oakmont Country Club.
