SAN DIEGO - Second-year coach Leslie Spalding will lead the Aztecs through nine regular-season tournaments in six different states in the 2012-13 San Diego State women's golf schedule released Thursday, highlighted by the SDSU Farms Invitational March 31-April 2. The Aztecs' fall schedule consists of four tournaments in four different states, starting Sept. 17-18 with the Dick McGuire/Branch Law Firm New Mexico Invitational in Albuquerque, N.M. SDSU finished fifth in Spalding's debut as head coach a year ago, led by a seventh-place finish by current senior Gina Clark. SDSU heads to Vail, Colo., for the Golfweek Conference Challenge Sept. 24-26, before turning its attention to the Edean Ihlenfeldt Washington Invitational in Seattle Oct. 8-10. The Red and Black finishes off its fall schedule at the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown Oct. 21-23 in Boulder City, Nev.

San Diego State opens its spring 2013 campaign with a trip to The Gold Rush at the Yorba Linda Country Club, Feb. 11-12, before returning to Nevada to compete in the UNLV Spring Invitational, Feb. 18-19. Two weeks later, SDSU will tee it up at the Bruin/Wave Classic, March 4-5, where Wong won her second individual title of the season. The Aztecs travel to the University of Florida's Sun Trust Gator Invitational March 15-17 before hosting the SDSU Farms Invitational at the Farms Golf Club in Rancho Santa Fe, Calif., March 31-April 2. That will be the final regular season match before the Mountain West Championships begin April 25 at Mission Hills Country Club in Rancho Mirage, Calif.

Last season, SDSU placed fifth in the conference for the second-consecutive season at the Wigwam Golf Resort in Litchfield Park, Ariz. The Aztecs will look to earn their third-consecutive postseason bid at NCAA regionals, which are set for May 9-11. They are followed by the national championships at the University of Georgia Golf Course in Athens, Ga., May 23-26. Aside from Wong, the Aztecs will also return senior Gina Clark and sophomore Amy Alston.
