SDSU Women's Golf Complete Fall Slate In Hawaii Starting Tuesday,br> The San Diego State women's golf team heads to Hawaii for its fifth and final tournament of the 2008 fall campaign, Oct. 28-29, at the Kent Youel Invitational in Kapolei, Hawaii. The 54-hole event begins with a practice round on Monday at the par-72, 6,140-yard Kapolei Golf Course. Teams will play 36 holes on Tuesday, followed by the final 18 holes Wednesday. Both days will feature shotgun starts at 7:30 a.m. HT.
The Aztecs are among a field of 15 schools that include eight teams ranked in the top 50 in the nation according to the latest golfstat.com ratings, including No. 18 Stanford, No. 26 UC Irvine, No. 27 Oregon, No. 29 New Mexico, No. 30 San Jose State, No. 33 Fresno State, No. 41 USF, and No. 50 Oklahoma.
SDSU is participating in the Kent Youel Invite for the fourth straight time and the eighth occasion overall in the tournament's 10-year history.
Another New Line Up For Aztec Golf In Hawaii The Aztecs will send their fourth different starting five in as many chances to this week's tournament in Hawaii. Only freshman Malin Enarsson (Gothenburg, Sweden) and sophomore Samantha Roberts (Carlsbad, Calif.) have been part of the line up for the `A' squad in each of the previous three events. The other three golfers, however, have been a part of the line up in at least one previous event this fall.
Only Arcala and Roberts were part of the Aztec contingent at the same tournament a year ago and are the only two SDSU players with experience at Kapolei Golf Course.
