Feb. 13, 2014
SAN DIEGO - The San Diego State women's lacrosse season opener at Winthrop scheduled for Friday has been rescheduled due to weather. The game will now be played on Monday, Feb. 17 at noon ET, Aztecs head coach Kylee White confirmed on Thursday.
In addition to lacrosse, Winthrop's home women's tennis, baseball and softball games this weekend have also either been cancelled or rescheduled. The lacrosse game will be played at a local High School instead of Winthrop's Eagle Field on Monday.
The Aztecs begin their third season in program history on Sunday, Feb. 16 at Davidson, beginning at noon ET, as they return 14 players who started at least eight games in 2013. SDSU was picked to finish sixth out of 10 teams in the Preseason MPSF Women's Lacrosse Coaches' Poll on Jan. 31, one year after going 8-8 overall and setting program records for most wins in season, most MPSF victories in a season (3), most home victories (4) and most road victories (3).
