Feb. 26, 2013
WOODLAND, Calif. - Sophomore Michaela Jarvis (Annapolis, Md.) was named Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Offensive Player of the Week, the conference announced on Monday.
Jarvis scored three goals and added five assists in San Diego State's 19-6 victory over Saint Mary's on Friday night. Not only did she have a team-high eight points for the Aztecs, but Jarvis made plays in critical situations.
After Saint Mary's scored three consecutive goals to tie the score, 3-3, in the first half, Jarvis responded with an assist to put SDSU back ahead by one. Moments later, she scored a goal of her own to push the lead to 5-3. Jarvis added two more goals later in the first half and the Aztecs never trailed again. The sophomore leads the team in assists (8) and points (14), and is second in goals scored (6).
SDSU returns to the field on Friday, March 8, against La Salle. The game will be played under the lights and is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. PT at Aztec Lacrosse Field.
