The San Diego State lacrosse team plays host to Saint Mary's at 7 p.m. PT Friday at Aztec Lacrosse Field. It will be the first of two meetings between the two schools with the second coming on April 13 in a Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) contest in Moraga, Calif.

The Aztecs (1-2, 0-1 MPSF) are coming off an 18-7 loss to UC Davis on Feb. 19 in the MPSF opener for both teams. SDSU began its season with a 19-4 loss to No. 18/20 Ohio State on Feb. 11, before winning in its first-ever home game, 14-9, over Cincinnati on Feb. 17.

Meris Walsh and Sophie Koubek lead the San Diego State offense with six goals apiece. Bailey Ewing (four goals, one assist), Lauren Maack (three goals, one assist) and Jackie Mills (three goals, one assist) have multiple goals for the Aztecs as well.

Christina Ricciardulli has team highs in ground balls (8), caused turnovers (5) and draw controls (7). Isabelle Pickett also has seven draw controls, while Lauren Paul has six ground balls and three caused turnovers.

Sammy Slattery has played all 180 minutes in net for SDSU and has 32 saves and a 15.33 goals against average.

The Gaels head to San Diego with a 0-2 mark, including an 0-2 mark in MPSF play. Saint Mary's, which has played both of its games at home, lost to California, 18-6, on Feb. 19 and dropped a 16-13 decision to UC Davis on Feb. 23. Following its game against San Diego State, SMC will take on Detroit at noon Sunday.

Amanda Cross leads Saint Mary's with seven goals on the year, while Jaclyn Biggers and Caroline Mahony have three goals apiece. Rachel Minarovich leads the Gaels with four ground balls and six draw controls. Kathleen Worsdale has saved 19 shots in 120 minutes.

Following the game with SMC, the Aztecs continue their seven-game homestand March 6 when they welcome Detroit at 7 p.m. PT.
