Women's Lacrosse to Host Aztec Warrior Challenge

SAN DIEGO - The San Diego State women's lacrosse team will host the Fall 2013 Aztec Warrior Challenge for players in grades 9-12 on Saturday, Sept. 28, beginning at 9 a.m. PT.
The event features a a five-on-five tournament, as teams will compete for the ultimate prize of being the Weekend Warrior Champions. Each squad will be comprised of 5-10 players and must have a goalie to participate.
All participants must register online here. Players who do not have a team, but would like to sign-up as an individual, can be placed on a "house" team. Games will be played on one side of the lacrosse field similar to half-court basketball, and will be seven minutes long with running clocks. Each team is guaranteed 10 games.
The Aztecs finished 8-8 overall in only their second season in program history, including a fifth-place finish in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF). In the process, SDSU set new program records for most wins in a season (8), most conference wins (3), most home wins (4) most road victories (3) and had a four-game winning streak from March 10 to March 22.
The Aztecs also set single-game records for most goals (21), assists (12), caused turnovers (17), draw controls (21) and largest margin of victory (17 points), while three players earned all-conference honors.
