Lacrosse to Hold Aztec Warrior Challenge on Oct. 28

SAN DIEGO -- Girls lacrosse players in grades 8 through 12 will have a chance to experience Aztec lacrosse up close when San Diego State hosts the sixth annual Aztec Warrior Challenge at Aztec Lacrosse Field on Saturday, Oct. 28, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Registration for the event begins at 8:30 a.m. and will close at 9 a.m. A stick work clinic will follow for 20 minutes prior to the start a five-on-five tournament, which will ultimately crown the Weekend Warrior champion.

The five-on-five games will last seven minutes with a running clock and will be played on one side of the field.

In addition, a second clinic will be conducted from noon-12:20 p.m. that day

Participants can register as teams of five to 10 field players and one goalie, or as an individual placed on a house team to be assigned at check-in.

Enrollment for the event closes on Sunday, Oct. 22, and the cost per player is $60.

Players must bring their own goggles, sticks, mouth guards and goalie equipment. Registered teams must look uniform and wear similarly colored jerseys or shirts. Registered teams must look uniform, wearing similar colored jerseys/shirts.
